Field Update: World No. 10 Jordan Spieth Latest Top-Ranked Player in the Field
Charlotte, NC, April 28, 2023— Jordan Spieth, winner of three major championships and a member of the victorious U.S. Presidents Cup team here last fall, committed to compete in the Wells Fargo Championship as the PGA TOUR returns to Charlotte and Quail Hollow Club, May 1-7.
This will be Spieth’s first start in the Wells Fargo Championship since 2013 when the 29-year-old finished T32.
Spieth has won 13 times on the PGA TOUR, including the 2015 Masters Tournament, 2015 U.S. Open and 2017 OPEN Championship. He was a member of the winning U.S. Presidents Cup team here last fall and had a 5-0 individual record.
The Texas native has five top-ten finishes in ten starts on the TOUR in 2023. Two of those came in his last two back-to-back starts, when he was T4 at The Masters tournament and runner-up at the RBC Heritage, losing to Matthew Fitzpatrick in a three-hole playoff.
Players have until 5:00 p.m. Eastern on April 28 to commit to the 156-player field and can withdraw from the tournament at any time.
