Wells Fargo Championship Donates Nearly $2.5 million To Numerous Charlotte Area Foundations
Charlotte, NC October 10, 2023— On behalf of Champions for Education, tournament officials announced today, a tournament record of nearly $2.5 million was raised for charity donations from this year’s Wells Fargo Championship at Quail Hollow Club.
Since 2003, the Wells Fargo Championship has raised over $30 million and raised awareness for numerous charitable foundations in three areas in which it has been contested—Charlotte NC, Wilmington NC, and the Washington DC area.
This year, as in the past, Charlotte’s annual PGA TOUR event has been fortunate enough to touch organizations with various services and needs including—Levine Children’s Hospital, First Tee of Greater Charlotte, Teach for America, John Crosland School, Carolina Youth Coalition, CMS Foundation, Augustine Literacy Project, Heart Math Tutoring, Ronald McDonald House of Greater Charlotte, Promising Pages, Children of First Responders Rotary Golf Classic, Young Black Leadership Alliance and YMCA of Greater Charlotte.
